THE VICTORY TOUR...Tuesday, Georgetown Lake, MT

We’re camping in the most beautiful national forest campground adjacent to Georgetown Lake outside of Anaconda, Montana. When I stepped out of Saffire I was hit with the fragrant pine smell that I buy candles trying to reproduce at home.

It is about 75 degrees with big, blue skies and a bright sun. There is a gentle breeze blowing and the lake is shimmering in the sunlight. I expect it will be very dark and very cold tonight. The temps have been in the high 30’s and I’m sure it will be colder here.

We’ve already taken the dogs to the lake to play and swim. Velcro dog Teddy is covered in dirt yet once again. We are very aware once more of bears. It wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see one at this campground.

Off to get the stove out and fix a pot of chili for dinner, which was delicious when we are it sitting around a roaring fire. There is tons of wood here all dry, seasoned and waiting for us.

Diane has had a few problems with her new camper, the biggest the battery draining. That is a real problem when we are spending so much time dry camping, no electric, and it is going to be cold tonight. No battery, no furnace. Finally figured out she has a bad fan in the bathroom which was shorting and drawing all her power. She and Luanne disconnected it this evening and we’re hoping her battery stays good for the night.

There are very few people in the campground, and with my senior discount it is costing me $6 for the night!

Going to try and post this with 3G coming and going, no pictures until we are somewhere better!
