VICTORY TOUR..Flat Head Lake Glacier

Thursday was a travel day, destination Flat Head Lake. We stopped in Phillipsburg, MT, another of those old mining towns that has managed to stay alive. The buildings were lovely gingerbread and the shops fun. Diane had a good time picking out her favorite candies at the Candy Store and I had fun shopping at the jewelry store which specialized in Sapphires which are mined in this area.

Our second stop was Drummond and Parker’s Diner! They boast a menu with hamburgers served 72 different ways. This place should be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives!

On we drove through the mountains and as we crested a hill in a sweeping panorama below us lay Flat Head Lake. Our campground was right on the lake and we waded an played in crystal clear water. When it was time for a campfire Diane and Luanne scavenged in the wood and came back with a small, downed pine. Watching them saw it into firewood was worth the price of admission!

The drive from Flathead to Glacier was ever more beautiful than what we’d already seen. We drove through Kallispell and got caught up in some sort of parade which meant a difficult detour. Finally through there and on to East Glacier. We are at the Glacier Mountain RV Park and we are happy as clams!

Off to explore Glacier!!!!
